Oz Challenge
Friday, January 27, 2012 at 04:57AM Currently sitting in Starbucks chipping away at the finer points of my dissertation, but all of a sudden here I am on my blog looking for a distraction.
So it won't be long until I'm off to Oz, (66 days, but who's counting) something I am extremely lucky and grateful to be doing.
As always before I head off somewhere I start thinking about what camera or cameras to bring with me. I posted this on Facebook a while back and got a varied response. I don't know why I post these things, I won't end up taking anyone else's advice and will just do what I feel is best ;)
So there is no doubt the iPhone will be the main camera of choice, I still maintain that it is the best quality device that is always with you, quick to use and can create some great results. The iPhone section in my gallery is clearly the most varied and the most full, so that certainly says something about my favourite tool! So with that decided I need another slightly more advanced camera as well, most people would think I'd pick my Nikon D300 DSLR. Don't get me wrong I do love that camera, and it produces some great images, but I'm Karen, and Karen likes a challenge, (e.g the marathon, meat free January) therefore it wouldn't be true to me if I was to go down the obvious route. So that being said I am going to bring my film Nikon SLR, I love the images that it produces. I have used it fairly recently and you just can't beat the strong blacks and whites you get from the images produced. The bonus side of this is that I can also use college on my return to develop my own film. (if I screw that up I will be livid)
Exciting times ahead, as I use my iPhone along my travels I will also try and blog everyday, if I haven't got WIFI, I'll just save my blog posts as I go along and post them all at once when I get the chance. So I hope you will all (my 3 readers) join me along the way..
